Wake won't win the ACC in '08?

Not according to Gobbler Country. Feel free to go give them a piece of your mind.
Don't come back and tell me the post is stupid, though, because that's what it's supposed to be. They've been doing it for every school. I will admit that their "dirt" on Wake is pretty weak.
I will comment on their stance that Wake will return to mediocrity when Grobe leaves: This will not be true if he stays around for 3+ years. If he left now we might be in trouble, but I think with a couple more years the foundation will be there for whoever comes next. Hopefully we don't have to find out.

there's a reason you guys went last in the series. i couldn't find reasons to dislike you guys or that you wouldn't be successful. i had to rag on your mascot, fercryinoutloud.

Interesting piece. I guess it is hard to find things to make fun of Wake Forest about; I guess that's one of the positives about being low key?
Zach, maybe you should do a piece on why VTech, and other ACC schools, won't win the conference title. I will say that even despite VTech's success, that is one program that I have always respected. Beamer runs a tight ship and always seems to discipline kids that need disciplining.

I don't think Wake will return to mediocrity or worse as long as Coach Grobe is at the helm. Wake will do nothing but improve. I think this year the ACC is either going to be taken by VT or by my Tigers, but Wake will be in the mix for sure.
Jared Shelton is out of his mind with this quote "Beamer runs a tight ship and always seems to discipline kids that need disciplining."
Yeah that tight ship has produced some real winners. If anything, Beamer sacrifices any academic and societal integrity to field the best team with some of the worst human beings.

I think it was an entertaining series, Furrer, and I'm certainly not offended that you couldn't find worse things to say about our team.
Jared - I think Gobbler Country covered it fairly well and I don't think I need to imitate.
I think I fall between Chili and Jared about Virginia Tech. I don't think it's the tightest ship around but I don't think it's as bad as Chili makes it out to be.

let's be honest. we all know that virginia tech will have a down year and the strength of the conference is in the atlantic.

I certainly agree that this is the Atlantic's year, Brian. However, because of that, VT could have a down year, slip into the ACC Championship game, and find a way to win it anyway. I wouldn't rule it out.

I wouldn't rule it out either, just saying someone should write a "Why the Coastal won't win the ACC in '08" piece :)

ok. the whole "virginia tech is for thugs" thing is getting old. yeah, the vick brothers turned out to be real winners. but check the fulmer cup standings. our two biggest rivals are right at the top. we're nowhere to be found.
and dont try to bring up branden ore. ore is a good kid who just didnt have the drive and determination to play d1 football. he got booted for laziness. not being a discipline problem.
to say that beamer sacrifices any academic and societal integrity to field the best team with some of the worst human beings makes you sound like an idiot. you obviously dont know anything about our team.
