Post-Clemson Injury Report

As painful as last night's 80-75 overtime loss to Clemson was, a couple of Deacons felt an even greater pain as a result of the game.

Both center Chas McFarland and G/F L.D. Williams were unable to complete the game due to injuries.

Chas hurt his right knee and is expected to have an MRI today. No information regarding that has been released, although he has been seen walking around campus today without the aid of crutches (no official word on whether or not he has some kind of brace). This is a good sign, but not necessarily a definite sign that the injury is minor. The injury could still be quite serious. We'll have to wait and see.

L.D. Williams appears to have broken the metacarpal in his right hand. I have it from a reliable source that he confirmed a broken hand in a class this morning. Because it is his right hand it seems unlikely that he will try to play with the injury, and an injury like this usually takes 6-8 weeks to heal according to this website. If that truly is the prognosis it looks like we won't see L.D. back on the court until March.

Definitely tough news. We'll analyze what this will do to the starting lineup and rotation in the next couple of days.
