What Is a Schmap?
Since I know all of my readers are very observant, I'm sure you've noticed the new toy over there on the right side of the page. Of course as soon as you noticed it you probably wondered "what the heck is that?" Luckily I'm not going to leave you hanging on this one, so read on.
Schmap is a new tool that integrates all kinds of good stuff into one small package. Schmaps exist for everything from city guides to concert tours, mountains of the world to Wake Forest basketball.
For our purposes the widget provides a map of all the places the Deacs have played or will play this season. If you click on one of the locations the map will zoom in to a satellite view of the arena so that you can check out the stadium and surrounding area. Also, you can switch to schedule view to see an overview of the season schedule and results, or you can switch to stats view and see stats for individual games.
Schmap is a relatively new tool, particularly in the widget form it is seen in here, and the developers are hoping to continue to improve it's design and functionality. They have asked Old Gold & Blog to be a showcase site for the widget, and have asked to be provided with feedback.
Therefore, if you have a few minutes to play around with the schmap and provide me with some feedback it would be greatly appreciated. It will be greatly appreciate if you send me an email (oldgoldblog@gmail.com) and let me know what you like and/or don't like about the Schmap, how you think it could be improved, and anything other feedback. I will then pass it on to the developers.
Thanks and enjoy!
