Wake up call: Catching up

I didn't get a "Wake up call" up yesterday morning, so I'm going to catch up on a couple of items from yesterday and hit today's news.

Yesterday:
A great feature on Aaron Curry and his draft stock, both past and future.

Edward Robinson from Raleigh takes a look at Navy.

Aaron Curry was named the Lott Trophy IMPACT player of the week, but the funny thing is I don't think he was even the defensive players with the greatest impact in the game. Still, a nice honor.

Today:
John Delong has written an excellent feature on former basketball coach Dave Odom and the rest of the 2008 Wake Forest hall of fame inductees. A great read.

A Dan Collins feature on center Trey Bailey.

Some interesting tidbits from the Wake notebook.

According to the associated press, Brandon Pendergrass needs to step it up.

Heather Dinnich recognizes Ryan McManus as the ACC's unsung hero so far this season, mostly for the timeout call at the end of the FSU game. I bet he never expected to get so much mileage out of standing up and putting his hands together in the shape of a "T"

With USC losing, the ACC games can be seen a bit more positively now. Also, Wake needs to keep winning. Some interesting things are taking place on the national stage giving us some very unusual opportunities should we still be standing at the end of the year.

Did I really just say that?

Don't forget that the Wake-Maryland soccer game tonight is on TV tonight on Fox Soccer Channel. #1 vs #2.

Believe it or not Zach, there are other sports at Wake Forest besides football and basketball.

Don't know if the last comment was a joke but I would not worry about it. Zach is doing something that nobody else has done before for Wake by himself and I am pretty impressed. He tries to cover soccer, baseball and other stories when he can.

    Keep up the good work.
